After the first night... what next? - Guild Wars Forums

Ok, so I played last night for the first time... no, I mean, REALLY for the FIRST TIME, as I've never played an RPG before, so I felt like an idiot standing around in a city why I couldn't draw my weapon...

At any rate, I learned some, and a nice guy took me around and we did some 'creepin', and now I'm at level 3.

So what about the whole GUILD combat stuff?? I think I heard that the guilds don't start until today (April 28)???

I'm looking forward to joining teams, rather than talking to bots and hunting game...

Maybe I'm a PvP person after all?

Perhaps you are better of than by creating a PvP Character.
The Guild have already started. I created one Yesterday so.

There are plenty of guides for those starting out on this site. You'll get a taste of PvP when you're ready to go to the academy but you should probably do a few quests and get a secondary class. After that, you can do some random PvP in the various Arenas to see if you like it which is similar to the 2 vs 2 battle you'll do in the academy.

Use those experiences to decide if you want to join or start a guild where the competition then becomes 8vs8. You'll better serve yourself and your guild though if you get a little knowledge under your belt first instead of trying to experience everything at once.

The Guilds and the game ARE more than the PvP, there are some guilds that intend on participating only in the PvE arena. My Guild for instance won't get into the PvP area until we have most of our members well versed in the game and have a solid working knowledge of their characters skills and abilities.
So for now we gather, group up and play the game in the PvE settings and we'll go from there.
So if you want to party up some time look for me in game as Kronos The Red
and our Guild can be found with the tag [HoaK] Heros Of Oakhurst
